Phuket is around 800 kilometres from Bangkok, so it would take a full day of travel to go overland. However, 90-minute flights make it easy to spend time in both of these intriguing places during Phuket holidays.

The beautiful island of Koh Samui is only a one-hour flight from Phuket, meaning you could potentially consider a two-centre holiday during your time in Thailand. Travelling overland would take you around six hours without any stops.

Green season in Phuket is between May and October, with the heaviest rains of monsoon season falling in September and October. While seas can be less clear for diving, a visit during these months has its advantages. You can avoid the highest crowds and costs, and it rarely rains all day.
