The Playford, Art Nouveau elegance in Adelaide

The Playford Adelaide - MGallery, a masterpiece of Art Nouveau and contemporary luxury, situated in Adelaide's vibrant heart. Once the site of Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper 'The News', the hotel was reimagined in 1997 to become Australia’s first genuine Arts hotel. Named after former premier Sir Thomas Playford, it embodies his progressive spirit within its refined walls.

Originally the home of Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper 'The News', the site was transformed into The Playford in 1997, reflecting the progressive vision of Sir Thomas Playford.

The Playford’s design, a modern-day interpretation of Art Nouveau, features a grand staircase, handcrafted chandeliers, and art by South Australian talents like Jeremy Herbert and David Bromley.
