Bel Hôtel Oléron Thalasso & Spa - MGallery Collection

Stories & Commitments

In Harmony with the Island

On the Atlantic shore where the hotel stands, the landscape invites quiet discovery. Fine sand between your toes, paths through the dunes leading to pine-scented forest. This untamed setting inspires every detail in our hotel.

The resort blends naturally into its surroundings, welcoming the island indoors. Beach house-inspired spaces echo the soft tones of sand under gentle light. Shell and driftwood shapes appear throughout, along with ephemeral artworks created on the beach. A seawater spa draws on the restorative power of the ocean, while close ties with local producers bring pastries from our in-house bakery and freshly harvested oysters to the table.

Coastal Connections

1 / 3

An Ambiance of Nature and Nostalgia

Architectural ceiling elements catch the light from the ocean and Gatseau Beach’s white sands, and the beach bar evokes classic French Atlantic coastal resorts. Black-and-white photographs and antique-style cabinets beautifully complement the beach-toned décor in the rooms.

In Conversation with the Coast

Île d’Oléron is known as “La Lumineuse” for its abundant sunshine and soft, serene light. Life here follows the gentle rhythm of the coast. Reconnect with the island through marine-inspired treatments, restorative walks and cocktails infused with local botanicals.

Luxury in Harmony with Nature

From seasonal food and organic spa rituals to low-impact activities, the resort balances indulgence with care. Villas and public spaces preserve vegetation, protect the reef and maximise privacy, immersing you in Mirihi’s natural beauty to enjoy serene, unhurried moments in mindful luxury.

Welcome to the pines, dunes and ocean spray of Oléron! Every detail is designed to help you feel at home in nature. Our team is delighted to introduce you to this vibrant, authentic and peaceful place.

Our commitments

The island shapes this French Atlantic coastal retreat, where nature sets the rhythm of unhurried days. Believing that biodiversity is beauty, the hotel is committed to protecting it wherever possible. Alongside measures such as limiting single-use plastics, a short supply chain is prioritised, with ingredients sourced through trusted relationships with local producers.

The skilled team at our in-house bakery sources flour from artisanal millers. In the restaurant, oysters come from generations of local producers who have mastered their craft, expertise that has made Marennes-Oléron oysters renowned around the world.

Working with Local Artisans

Strong relationships with local suppliers and artisans support the island community, shorten the supply chain and help preserve traditional know-how, while ensuring the freshest ingredients appear on our menus.

  • Responsible Local Sourcing

Close ties with local suppliers reduce our carbon footprint. Flour is milled using wind power, while Label Rouge Marennes-Oléron oysters meet strict sustainability standards.

  • From Island Millers to Our Bakery

Bread and pastries are crafted daily in the hotel’s in-house bakery. The flour comes from a nearby 17th-century windmill, the Moulin de La Brée in La Brée-les-Bains at the island’s northern tip, carefully restored and back in production since 2023.

  • Île d’Oléron Oyster Farmers

The island produces the only Label Rouge oysters in France, sourced just a short distance from the hotel. Marennes-Oléron oysters are matured in clay ponds (claires) fed by seawater. This traditional method, combined with the skill of local producers, shapes their texture, taste and greenish hue.
